Daily life in our home, when not outside in our fenced yard playing or hunting this is where you will find our dogs.
Here at Platinum Dachshunds
At Platinum Dachshunds, we believe all dogs should be family dogs first,
A dog you can enjoy both inside the ring and out is our primary goal and at the center of our breeding philosophy, with that in mind keeping dogs in our home is important. While this limits the number of dogs we will keep each litter, it does allow us to enjoy the dogs fully that we do keep from those breedings.
Whether a puppy or an adult, both are considered a companions first and then a show prospect.
Our breedings consider the best temperments, conformation, and health possible.
It is important to us that our thoughtfully bred dachshunds be treasured in homes where they enjoy companionship, training, and exercise.
From time to time, adults are available to be placed in top-notch homes as companions when they are retired from show life.

Raising Dogs for family and show because every dog is a family dog first.
How the journey began
“You see, sometimes in life, the best thing for all that ails you has fur and four legs.”
― Mark J. Asher, All That Ails You: The Adventures of a Canine Caregiver
My journey and love of animals began at a young age, Breyer horses were my “Barbie” of choice. I researched horse breeds and always loved looking at animal fact books, I owned the big books of many types of animal species, learning all the classifications of fish, dogs, horses, and other animals. Truly the version of an animal nerd. biology and science certainly intrigued me as I grew This is most likely where the interest in breeding began.
My Aunt introduced me to the world of dog shows when I was young by entering me in a fun match which I remember to this day. While I didn’t take up showing dogs after that immediately, my love of horses and animals continued. Although I never owned a horse,, as an adult dogs began to fill my life.
I learned many things from the dogs we have owned.
Starting out with Akitas, Samson and Jasmine were the first and they taught me so many things, I still love Akitas to this day. A Great Dane, Angel, who will forever be my sweetest girl, taught me how to watch a dog grow, what it takes to show and be patient as they mature, how to raise puppies, then, how to age well, and so much more
Our dachshunds came along at the same time as our Great Dane, and dog show time began to increase. My daughter also had an interest in attending shows. and it became our regular event.
Our daughter Reilly began with a standard dachshund Moose, who finished his championship so fast we had to get another, we then came to own a standard wire-haired boy- Schneider. Schneider also finished quickly and became our first special he was ranked in the top 20 in 2014. Both were dear to us and did exceptionally well in the show ring, but were also treasured family dogs along with Angel our Dane at the time.
As we all know dachshunds are addicting and we were fortunate to own a retired mini girl from a friend of ours and he allowed us to breed her. Our dear and forever missed Ivanna! She set our world of dachshunds in motion and is the base from which we begin the show and breeding of our miniature dachshunds, she was the whole reason our journey began, and I am so happy and fortunate to have owned that sweet girl.
Miniature Dachshunds stole my heart. I love to interact with them, they love to play and rest with you. They are sweet and give you so much love……….
but don’t be fooled they are just as much a jokester and a mini-boss as you will let them be!
